According to Sky Germany, an agreement has reportedly been reached between Borussia Dortmund and Nico Schlotterbeck's management team.

It's believed the contract will run until 2031 with an annual salary of €14million, including a €60million release clause starting in 2027.

With Sky Germany confirming the basic details – all that's said to be missing is Schlotterbeck's final commitment and signature.

Further good news accompanies that for BVB, with the pay-TV channel also stating Liverpool and Real Madrid are no longer in the running for the defender.

Dortmund's new sporting director, Ole Book, said on Wednesday: "Of course I'm aware of the situation. I've already written to Nico, and we'll be speaking soon.

“However, I don't want to comment on it in any more detail right now,” he added. Perhaps those details will follow soon based on the latest twist in this saga.
