Report: Everton inquire about Eintracht's Ebimbe
Already linked with a move away from Frankfurt this summer, it now appears as if there is some concrete interest in 23-year-old SGE midfielder Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe. French broadcaster "RMC Sport" claims that Everton FC are interested in acquiring Ebimbe, who has played on both sides of midfield, at the six, and also as a wingback on both flanks during his two years in the German commercial capital.
Despite his tactical versatility, Ebimbe was mostly thought-of as a right-rail-player. This need has now been filled by the acquisition of Danish right-back Rasmus Kristensen this summer. Ebimbe remained on the bench throughout Eintracht's opening round Pokal encounter against Braunschweig last night. He scored an impressive ten goals and registered three assists in 44 appearances across all competitions last season.
Ebimbe may yet play an important role in SGE trainer Dino Toppmöller's plans this season, but the RheinMainAdler will certainly not miss out on the opportunity to flip him for a late profit. Eintracht paid PSG a reported €6.5 million to acquire Ebimbe permanently in May of 2023. The player currently maintains a €12 million estimated market worth, but could conceivably fetch upwards of €20 million or more.
