Based on reports from Sky Germany, SC Freiburg are pushing to sign Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United in summer.

Talks between the Breisgauers and the 22-year-old's representatives have started regarding a possible summer transfer.

Transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg is aware that the Premier League club are open to a sale or a loan with an obligation to buy.

However, a deal for the Italian is believed to difficult for Freiburg – who have been negotiating for weeks – to pull off.

Gnonto largely struggled to feature for the Yorkshire club this season, providing just three assists in 473 topflight minutes thus far.

A calf injury also curtailed a chunk of his potential playing time. Transfermarkt.com values the attacker at €18million.
