Amid outgoing transfer speculation, SC Freiburg have tied 21-year-old central defender Max Rosenfelder down with a new deal. The SCF and Germany U21 starter just signed new working papers four months ago. The Breisgauer have thus seized the moment to surely hand him a handsome pay raise.
Rosenfelder has made nine league starts over 11 match-days, only missing out on the starting XI when he was hurt. He's gone the full 90 minutes on four occasions. Rumors that he will be on the move to another club in January likely have no more merit to them.
“When Max stays healthy, there were zero doubts about his sporting abilities," SCF personnel boss Jochen Saier noted in a club press release, "It's great when there's a reward for being patient and trusting in one another. Max is already showing impressive maturity and composure on the pitch.”
“I was born in Freiburg and have been an SC fan since I was four years old," the player himself added, "There's no question in my mind that I'm in the right place here. I'm just happy to be fit and getting my chances. I'll keep trying to work hard to ensure that we continue to be successful."
