On Monday, it was widely reported that Serhou Guirassy has told VfB Stuttgart that he wants to leave the club this summer, amid reports that Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and AC Milan want him.

With a reported €18 million release clause in the striker's contract, Stuttgart are powerless to keep him and have therefore begun to look for a replacement.

One candidate, according to Sky Germany, is Borussia Dortmund's Niclas Füllkrug, with the German media outlet reporting that the club have collected initial information about a transfer.

According to the report, Stuttgart are hoping to have a chance of luring Füllkrug to the MHPArena, as Guirassy is likely to join Dortmund and give him stiff competition.

However, it is doubtful whether the 31-year-old would be interested. Clubs from Italy and Spain are also said to be keeping tabs on the striker, who has a contract with BVB until 2026.

For now, Füllkrug is fully focused on playing for Germany at Euro 2024.
