Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp will be without Waldemar Anton for the upcoming international fixtures against Serbia and the Netherlands after the Borussia Dortmund defender withdrew from the squad due to muscle problems, according to Sky Germany.

Anton has established himself as an important figure for Borussia Dortmund under Niko Kovac this season, featuring in every competitive match for the club so far. His consistent performances have made him a regular starter and one of the Croatian coach’s key defensive options.

His withdrawal represents a setback for Klopp as Germany prepare for their upcoming international assignments, with the national team now having to make alternative arrangements in defence.

Anton will stay with Dortmund, where his condition is expected to be assessed by the club’s medical staff ahead of the Bundesliga’s return following the international break.
