Having establishing himself as a key player for Hamburger SV following his loan move from Arsenal FC last summer, Fábio Vieira is set to return to his parent club as things stand.

However, according to Sky Germany, HSV are hoping to keep the Portuguese midfielder and have already opened talks with Arsenal.

After being informed that Hamburg want to build their team around him, Vieira is said to be open to staying, but a permanent move hinges on whether the German club can reach an agreement with the Gunners.

HSV reportedly hold a €20 million purchase option, but that fee is considered too high for the club, who will now look to negotiate it down.

Vieira has just one year left on his contract at Arsenal.
