Report: Heidenheim target Puchacz as Beste replacement

Polish news portal Meczyki reports that 1. FC Heidenheim have a specific targeted replacement for Jan-Niklas Beste in mind.

Heidenheim's preferred candidate to replace the recently departed Jan-Niklas Beste is - according to at least one source - FC Union wingback Tymoteusz Puchacz. The 14-times-capped Polish international is back in Köpenick following a successful loan stint with German second division side 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Puchacz. made a total of 36 appearances across all competitions for the Pfälzer Red Devils. He garnered a total of nine assists in the league. Three assists in the Pokal round included vital set-ups in the quarters and semi-finals.

Union have loaned the 25-year-old out three times in the last three years. To date, he's made just one Bundesliga appearance for his parent club. After his loan stint with Lautern pumped Puchacz's estimated market worth back up to €2 million, it would make sense that Union might seek to cash in on him in the final year of his contract. Like Beste, Puchacz is a trained left-back who can also operate farther forward. Polish news portal Meczyki reports that the FCH are actively seeking to obtain him.
