When VfB Stuttgart kick off their Bundesliga campaign against SC Freiburg on Saturday, they will do so without Anthony Rouault in their squad.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness revealed that the centre-back will be sidelined for a while with the shoulder injury he sustained in the DFL-Supercup defeast against Bayer Leverkusen last week.

"Rouault unfortunately suffered a subluxation of the shoulder against Leverkusen," Hoeness told the media.

"He will miss the next few games as well."

With Leonidas Stergiou and Dan-Axel Zagadou also sidelined and Yannik Keitel a doubt, the injury leaves Stuttgart with problems at the back.

If Keitel isn't deemed fit enough to start alongside Jeff Chabot, new signing Ramon Hendriks or youngster Anrie Chase could get the chance.
