Fisnik Asllani finally played his first game of the season in TSG Hoffenheim’s win over VfB Stuttgart last Saturday. The 24-year-old has seen his move to RB Leipzig cancelled at the eleventh hour due to concerns raised after his medical check.
"It was not an easy summer for Fissi (Asllani)," emphasized the club’s sports managing director Andreas Schicker. "We are glad that he is with us. We have already seen his influence against Stuttgart in a few minutes. I think that he has already shown this week in training that he can help us again.
“I'm glad he's here because, from now on, we have a lot of games that go through to January. I hope for even longer (provided Hoffenheim progress from Europa League league phase). We need everyone, so I'm glad that Fissi is back."
Asllani entered the Stuttgart game alongside Hoffenheim's all-time top-scorer Andrej Kramaric, with Tim Lemperle and the matchwinner Adam Hložek substituted off ten minutes from time. The Kosovan international is included in Hoffenheim’s Europa League squad as they start their journey in Greece against OFI Crete on Thursday.
