VfB Stuttgart centre-back Finn Jeltsch is one of nine potential debutants in Jürgen Klopp’s 25-man Germany squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Serbia and Greece.
Speaking to German media on Tuesday, the 20-year-old outlined his determination to make the most of the opportunity, saying playing for the national team is “the greatest thing there is” in his opinion.
“I would say I’m an aggressive defender, brave and also attack-minded. I hope I can show what I can do and that he will like it,” Jeltsch said, according to DPA, underlining his desire to “convince the coaching staff of my qualities”.
Having recently made his Champions League debut for Stuttgart, Jeltsch is now closing in on another milestone.
When it comes to international football, he named defending European and World Cup champions Spain as the benchmark.
“That’s where we want to get to as well,” Jeltsch underlined.
