HSV are set to strengthen their right flank with the signing of Zakaria El Ouahdi from KRC Genk.

According to Sky Germany, HSV have reached a full agreement with the Belgian club over a permanent transfer for the 24-year-old. The deal is reportedly worth less than €10 million guaranteed, with El Ouahdi set to sign a long-term contract in Hamburg.

The Moroccan international is scheduled to undergo his medical on Sunday before completing the move. Recent reports had indicated that El Ouahdi had already reached an agreement with HSV over personal terms, while negotiations with Genk remained the final obstacle.

El Ouahdi has been with Genk since 2023 after previously playing for RWD Molenbeek. He enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign, scoring 12 goals in 45 competitive appearances despite primarily operating on the right flank.

The transfer also means HSV have ended their pursuit of Arthur. The Bayer Leverkusen defender had been considered an alternative option for the right side, but with El Ouahdi now on his way to Hamburg, the Brazilian's potential move is off.

El Ouahdi's arrival would address one of HSV's key squad needs ahead of the club's return to the Bundesliga. The Moroccan joins at a crucial stage of the transfer window, with the deadline approaching on Tuesday.
