Bayern Munich star Harry Kane has put himself in a strong position to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or next month.

However, the 33-year-old is well aware of the competition he faces from the likes of Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé, Paris Saint-Germain's Ousmane Dembélé and FC Barcelona's Lamine Yamal.

“It's a goal to be the best player in the world. It would be a wonderful feeling. The Ballon d'Or is the biggest individual award. Let's see what happens,” Kane told Téléfoot (via iMiaSanMia).

“There are many candidates: [Kylian] Mbappé, [Ousmane] Dembélé, [Lamine] Yamal, Rodri – all top players. It's exciting because everything is possible this year. There's also Michael Olise, who had a great season and a great World Cup. We'll see. The Ballon d'Or is really special.”

The last Bayern player to win the Ballon d'Or was Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981, when he claimed the award for the second consecutive year.

“When you know how many legends Bayern have had, that's a long time ago. Let's see what happens,” Kane said.
