RB Leipzig

With 10 games left to play, Leipzig are sitting in fifth spot and two points adrift of the top four in the battle to secure Champions League qualification. Die Roten Bullen will be searching for consistency in the final stretch of the season, having won two, drawn three and lost two of their last seven league games.

The second of those two victories took place in last Sunday’s away clash with Hamburger SV. Rômulo Cardoso netted his seven league goals of the season to cancel out Fábio Vieira’s opener at the Volksparkstadion, before the striker provided the assist for Yan Diomande to put Leipzig ahead in the 50th minute. Rômulo spurned the chance to add to Leipzig’s tally from the penalty spot, but fortunately for the 24-year-old, his saved effort did not prove costly as die Roten Bullen saw out the remainder of the contest to claim their third win in four away league matches.

They will now return to the Red Bull Arena, where they have gone four consecutive matches without a win since beating Freiburg 2-0 on January 14. While their recent home record will not inspire confidence, Leipzig can draw inspiration from the fact they have won eight of their nine Bundesliga home meetings with Augsburg (D1).

Team News

Leipzig are unable to call upon the services of Péter Gulácsi, Viggo Gebel, Kosta Nedeljković, Assan Ouédraogo and Xaver Schlager due to injury.

Predicted lineup: Vandevoordt; Baku, Orbán, Lukeba, Raum; Gruda, Seiwald, Baumgartner; Diomande, Nusa; Rômulo

Augsburg

Augsburg have alleviated their relegation fears with a return of five wins in six matches, including three consecutive victories since losing 2-0 away to Mainz on February 7. The Fuggerstädter started that impressive spell of form with a narrow 1-0 win over Heidenheim, before they came from behind on two occasions to pull off a 3-2 away victory against Wolfsburg.

Augsburg then returned home to claim a 2-0 win in last weekend’s meeting with FC Köln. Winter addition Rodrigo Ribeiro scored his second goal since arriving on loan from Sporting CP, before Alexis Claude-Maurice wrapped up all three points in stoppage time.

The Fuggerstädter will now head on their travels with hopes of claiming their first-ever Bundesliga away win over Leipzig and their first head-to-head at any venue since recording a victory at the WWK Arena in September 2017.

After beating Wolfsburg in their most recent road trip, Augsburg are also targeting back-to-back Bundesliga away victories for the first time since February/March 2025.

Team News

Augsburg are without the injured quartet of Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, Chrislain Matsima, Uchenna Ogundu and Yannik Keitel. Meanwhile, Cédric Zesiger is set to serve a one-match ban for an accumulation of yellow cards

Predicted lineup: Dahmen; Chaves, Schlotterbeck, Banks; Fellhauer, Jakić, Massengo, Giannoulis; Rieder, Claude-Maurice; Ribeiro
