Bundesliga champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen may potentially be interested in bringing another late-blooming Spanish talent under the wing of Spanish trainer Xabi Alonso. Newly-capped Spanish international Alejandro Grimaldo could soon be joined by 26-year-old Aleix Garcia of Girona on the roster of Germany's red company team. Girona-insider Ivan Quirós and Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano both report that an inquiry has been made.

Unlike Grimaldo, Garcia will not come cheap. Leverkusen were able to sign their thriving left-back on a free late last spring. Garcia maintains the same estimated market worth as Grimaldo did at the time (€25 million), but remains under contract with his La Liga side through 2026. Leverkusen sporting executive Fernando Carro is on record as stating that the champs plan to make one large sale this summer in the interest of restocking the team.

Jeremie Frimpong - the presumed candidate for sale - is currently valued at around €50 million. One factor working against the rumor concerns the fact that Bayer are already well stocked in midfield. Granit Xhaka, Robert Andrich, Exequiel Palacios, and young prospect Gustavo Puerta are all versatile enough to serve as both defensive and attack minded midfielders.
