The Westphalian club was formerly linked with the teenager during the 2026 World Cup but the links eventually ran cold.

Mexican star Raúl Jiménez stated he could easily imagine top talent Gilberto Mora from Club Tijuana playing for a top Bundesliga side.

“He has the potential to play anywhere, but it can also be a gradual process, step by step,” the 35-year-old striker told 'Claro Sports'.

“Where would I like to see him? Maybe in Germany, at Borussia Dortmund. They have their own style of play,” Jiménez added.

During the World Cup, Borussia Dortmund were indeed linked with Mora, and there was even talk of contact being made.

Ultimately, however, BVB strengthened their attack with Konstantinos Karetsas and Giannis Konstantelias and Ethan Nwaneri on loan.

Whether a future transfer is now off the table remains to be seen. The 17-year-old talent is only at the beginning of his career.
