Reports: Augsburg's Sergio Cordova moves to Real Salt Lake

As reported by the "Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung" and confirmed by transfermarkt's German scouting operatives, FC Augsburg attacker appears set for a move to the MLS.
In the first of what may be many cooperative deals between FC Augsburg and Real Salt Lake (two clubs with the US-based "Bolt Footballing Holdings" as a stakeholder), 24-year-old Venezuelan attacker Sergio Cordova should be on his way to MLS. A transfer has not yet been officially confirmed by either club, but photos posted on local American social media arms already show Cordova training with his new employer.

After the Fuggerstädter paid some €1 million to Caracas FC. to purchase Cordova ahead of the 2017/18 season, the forward played three-and-a-half seasons with the FCA. He spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Arminia Bielefeld. In total, he scored nine goals in 98 Bundesliga appearances.

Mostly used off the bench this season even before the arrival of American striker Ricardo Pepi, Cordova amassed only 375 minutes in 14 appearances and two starts. Presumably, a transfer fee would be due for the player as he remains under contract with the Bundesliga club through 2025.
