Manchester United are ready to step up their interest in Borussia Dortmund centre-back Manuel Akanji, according to Bild.

Per the report, the Swiss international could leave Dortmund for around €25-30 million this summer, with Manchester United prepared to offer him a four-year deal worth €15 million per season.

Akanji has reportedly turned down an initial contract offer from Dortmund worth an annual €8 million and is holding out for €10 million per season from 'Die Schwarzgelben'.

Dortmund have already brought in a possible replacement, with Niklas Süle set to arrive on a free transfer from Bayern München. Additionally, BVB are said to be interested in Freiburg's Nico Schlotterbeck.
