Five years after leaving FC Ingolstadt for English side Brighton & Hove Albion, Pascal Gross is being linked with a return to Germany.

According to 90min.de, Werder Bremen have held talks with Gross' representatives in the past week.

Gross' name was already brought up in relation to Werder back in January, and 'The Green-Whites' have now reignited their interest in the 30-year-old with the hope of signing him on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer, per the report.

However, in order to make the deal possible, Werder first need to secure promotion to the Bundesliga. With one game left to play of the season, Werder sit second in the 2. Bundesliga, three points clear of Hamburger SV and Darmstadt.
