Augsburg look to Switzerland for a replacement for Weinzierl

Sky Germany reports that Augsburg have approached FC St. Gallen coach Peter Zeidler.
FC St. Gallen coach Peter Zeidler has reportedly emerged as the favorite for FC Augsburg's vacant coaching position.

According to Sky Germany, Augsburg have opened talks with the 59-year-old as they look to replace Markus Weinzierl, who left his role as head coach at the end of the season.

The German coach has been at St. Gallen since 2018 and is under contract until 2025. He has previously coached a number of clubs, including Sochaux, Sion, RB Salzburg and FC Liefering.

Hannes Wolf (Germany U19), Gerhard Struber (New York Red Bulls) and Enrico Maaßen (Borussia Dortmund II) have also been touted as candidates.
