Report: Tigges to Köln talks in "advanced stage"

NRW newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten reports that the transfer of Dortmund striker Steffen Tigges to 1. FC Köln might be imminent.
A transfer of BVB center-forward to the cathedral city is, according to Westphalian newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten, not merely a matter of loose speculation. The NRW Daily reports that both Bundesliga clubs are deep into "advanced negotiations".

RN claims that Tigges has already agreed to personal terms with Köln and that a transfer fee of between €2 and €3 million is presently being negotiated. The article states that die Geißböcke have found their primary target; a promising young attacker who will not erode their (after the Salih Özcan transfer) estimated €3 million transfer surplus.

Tigges is said to bye the preferred candidate of head-coach Steffen Baumgart. A recently reported link with Leverkusen striker Joel Pohjanpalo--considered too iffy for the €2.5 million price tag--has left Christian Keller and the Effzeh front office eager to conclude a deal. Köln are also reportedly looking to add to their transfer surplus by shopping Ellyes Skhiri for less than half their desired price last summer.
