FC Schalke 04 confirmed the signing of center-forward Jordan Larsson late Friday afternoon. The 25-year-old son of Swedish great Henrik Larsson--once considered worth €10 million by Bundesliga suitors VfL Wolfsburg--arrives the newly-promoted Bundesliga club on a free courtesy of his dissolved contract with Spartak Moscow.

"Jordan convinced us in the negotiations that he has a great passion for Schalke 04," S04 sporting director Roven Schröder noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "and our joint mission to maintain in the class. He can supply danger both as a second presence up top and on the wing. His qualities will render our attacking play more unpredictable. He provide a scoring threat himself, bute also regularly sets up for his teammates with clever moves."

"Jordan fits in very well with us with his way of playing football," trainer Frank Kramer added, "He always seeks out duels and is able to assert himself with his speed and technique. At the same time, he knows how important it is to work against the ball. I'm convinced that he will quickly find his way into the team and our game."

Larsson, Schalke's 15th new summer singing, maintains an estimated market value of €8 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. Most recently loaned out to AIK Fotbol during a special transfer window accompanying the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in March, the six-times capped Sweden international scored three goals and chipped in two assists in 11 appearances this past spring.
