According to the local Kölner Express, Sebastian Andersson's reported transfer to Denmark's Brøndby IF has collapsed. Andersson's persistent knee problems apparently have nothing to do with the call-off as the 31-year-old passed the Danish club's medical. One might therefore surmise that the two clubs could not agree on a transfer fee or perhaps the Swedish striker failed to agree to terms.

With a reported annual salary of some €2 million, Andersson remains a member of the Köln squad that highly budget-conscious Köln sporting director Christian Keller will want to get off the payroll before the month is out. A new destination will nevertheless have to be sought after Köln licensing Thomas Kessler noted that "the cubs are not in agreement" today on Sky Germany.
