Josko Gvardiol has been heavily linked with a move away from RB Leipzig following his impressive performances for Croatia at the World Cup.

But with the Croatian centre-back's contract still running until 2027, Leipzig have no plans of letting him go anytime soon.

"I'm in contact with his agency," RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl told reporters.

"We are in very open talks. Our position is clear: He's not leaving this winter under any circumstances, and it's also not our intention to let him go in the summer of 2024.

"Beyond that, it's hard to say. But we are definitely planning with him for the next year and a half."

Chelsea and Real Madrid are among the clubs said to be interested in Gvardiol.
