Rolfes urges Hudson-Odoi to improve in the final third

Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes has urged Chelsea loanee Callum Hudson-Odoi to be more present in the final third.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has struggled to nail down a starting berth for Bayer Leverkusen since joining on loan from Chelsea in the summer.

According to Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes, the 22-year-old winger needs to become more of a goal threat if he wants to start more regularly.

"He needs to show the consistency to get into the dangerous areas and threaten the goal himself. He needs to be a lot more present there. He can do a lot more in that respect. He has the technical qualities to do that," Rolfes told Kicker.

He went on to use Sardar Azmoun as an example of a player who has put himself in a better position by improving his performances.

"Sardar [Azmoun] is an example of how you can put yourself in a different situation. But it has to come from yourself," Rolfes continued.

"Callum is a friendly person, but he needs to get his elbows out a bit more on the pitch."
