Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed to the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger that Jonathan Tah's €20 million release clause has expired.

However, a move for the 27-year-old central defender doesn't seem to be completely out of the question.

Should a club approach Leverkusen about Tah, "we could negotiate freely," said Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes.

West Ham have been linked with a move for Tah, whose contract expires in 2025.
