Stuttgart updates: Perea loaned out to Rostock, VfB reject Mislintat's bid for Ito

VfB Stuttgart confirmed a 2. Bundesliga loan-out for Colombian striker Juan Jose Perea yesterday. In other Stuttgart-related transfer news, multiple sources now claim that the Swabians have rejected a lucrative offer from their former sporting director Sven Mislintat for defender Hiroki Ito.

Twenty-three-year-old Colombian striker Juan Jose Perea will spend the season playing for Hansa Rostock in the 2. Bundesliga. A loan-out for the summer 2022 purchase was confirmed yesterday. Perea made 16 league appearances (five starts) for VfB Stuttgart last season. He scored one league goal in the round 23 defeat against Bayern München.

VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth issued a statement in which he stated that he was "convinced the move would benefit all parties." Wohlgemuth also praised the Colombian's "fighting spirit and commitment" whilst expressing the hope that more regular practice in the second division would help the talent find his feet.

In other Stuttgart-related transfer news, multiple sources now claim that Wohlgemuth is actively resisting an attempt by former VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat to acquire Japanese defender Hiroki Ito. Now in charge at Ajax Amsterdam, Mislintat has shown no hesitation in flashing cash in pursuit of Bundesliga players. Eintracht keeper Diant Ramaj was procured for a reported €8 million yesterday.

Sky Germany and German broadcaster "Sport1" report that Mislintat offered his former club €12 million for his former player. This information has also been confirmed by the Dutch newspaper "De Telegraaf". The local Stuttgarter Nachrichten paper reports that this bid has been rejected, but Mislintat is prepared to table another offer in the €15-16 million range.

Wohlgemuth emphasized the club's desire to keep Ito when speaking to the German paper. The current club personnel chief called the 24-year-old ten-times-capped international a "fixed component" of the club's plans.
