Bayern look to conclude three deals before the transfer deadline

With just hours left in the transfer window, Bayern Munich are looking to bring in a defensive midfielder and a defender. On the departure side of things, Ryan Gravenberch is set to leave the club to join Liverpool.
Bayern Munich are facing a busy transfer deadline day, with the Bavarians looking to bring in two new players and offload one before 18:00 CET.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel has been wanting to bring in a new number six all summer, and it looks like he may finally get his wish, with Fulham's Joao Palhinha close to joining the club.

Sky Germany reports that the 28-year-old defensive midfielder has been granted permission to fly to Munich, but is still awaiting the final green light for a medical.

Palhinha is said to have agreed personal terms with the Bavarians, but other details still need to be ironed out, including the exact fee, which is likely to be in the region of €70 million. In addition, Fulham want to sign a replacement before allowing the deal to go through.

Having lost two versatile defenders in Josip Stanisic (Leverkusen, on loan) and Benjamin Pavard (Inter), Bayern are also looking to strengthen at the back before the transfer window closes.

Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah is Tuchel's preferred target, but it's doubtful that the two clubs can agree on a deal for the 24-year-old, with Bayern preferring a loan and Chelsea reportedly only interested in a permanent transfer for around €50 million.

If a deal for Chalobah proves impossible, Bayern could instead make a move for Southampton's Armel Bella-Kotchap, who is reportedly available on loan for around €3.5 million. Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the 21-year-old, but have dropped out of the race, according to Sky Germany.

On the outgoing side, Ryan Gravenberch is expected to complete a move to Liverpool. The Dutchman has already landed in Liverpool after the two clubs agreed on a €40 million fee yesterday. The Premier League side have until midnight to complete the deal, as the transfer window closes later in England than in Germany.
