Kicker Report: Union interested in re-acquiring Croatian striker Musa
Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that 1. FC Union Berlin are seeking to re-acquire former loanee Petar Musa.
Musa moved to the Portuguese champions in the summer of 2022, where he proceeded to score 22 goals in 69 league appearances. He has nevertheless lost his starting role under German trainer Roger Schmidt this season, making only five league starts through 15 rounds. Musa has netted four tallies this year.
The Lisbon-based side reportedly demanded a transfer fee of €15 million for him last offseason. That sum could be considerably lower now. Musa currently maintains an estimated market worth of €8 million in the latest transfermarkt update. A loan deal for the forward - still under contract with Benfica through 2027 - might also be an option.
