Gladbach to part company with Hecking at the end of the season

Borussia Mönchengladbach and head coach Dieter Hecking will go separate ways in the summer.
Dieter Hecking will not continue his work as the head coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach beyond this season, the club have announced.

'Die Fohlen' will therefore be looking to hire a new head coach ahead of the 2019/20 season. According to Bild, Red Bull Salzurg coach Marco Rose is expected to take over.

Hecking's contract was set to run out at the end of the season before he signed a new deal until 2020 in November.

But, apparently, it has been decided that he will leave the club at the end of the season after all.

The decision will be elaborated by Hecking and Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl at a press conference later today.

Hecking's Gladbach team had a very impressive first half of the season, but have fallen into a slump recently, having won just one of their last seven Bundesliga games.
