Bayern München president Uli Hoeness is impressed with how Serge Gnabry has performed in his first season for the Bavarians.

The 23-year-old, who spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Hoffenheim after signing from Werder Bremen, has exceeded all expectations at Allianz Arena this season, according to Hoeness.

"We thought that we would bring him back and see if he would get to play every now and then," Hoeness told Kicker and continued:

"He's now a first-team regular. He has a lot of fun and is the biggest surprise of the season - in a positive way."

Gnabry has netted 12 times and made nine assists in 36 games for Bayern this season.
