Official: Nico Schulz joins Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Nico Schulz from Hoffenheim. The German international has signed a five-year contract.

"Nico Schulz is a defensive player who has made another leap in performance over the past year," said Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc and added:

"Just like the German national team, we will benefit greatly from his phyicality, pace and extreme dynamics. A player like him with his fighting spirit and greed for success does any team well."

Nico Schulz said:

"Borussia Dortmund are a top club which play football that suits me and my style. I think I can help the team with my playing style and that we can achieve great things together."

According to reports, Borussia Dortmund have paid around €27 million to secure the services of the left-back.

During the 2018/19 campaign, Schulz made 37 appearances with two goals and nine assists to his name.
