Ron-Robert Zieler is reportedly set to leave VfB Stuttgart to return to his former club Hannover 96.

According to Sportbuzzer, Zieler has already completed a medical, with the move expected to be announced soon.

If the deal goes through, Hannover are expected to say goodbye to either Michael Esser or Philipp Tschauner as they are unlikely to begin the new season with all three keepers in their ranks.

Both Hannover and Stutgart were relegated to the 2. Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season.

Zieler played for Hannover from 2010 until 2016 when he joined Leicester City. After just one season in England, the 30-year-old returned to Germany and joined Stuttgart in 2017.
