Borussia Mönchengladbach legend Günter Netzer has hailed the impact of Marcus Thuram and Alassane Pléa this season.

Netzer is really impressed with the two French strikers who have racked up 12 goals and 10 assists in total for Marco Rose's side during the 2019/20 campaign.

"The cooperation between Thuram and Plea up front is extraordinary. Gladbach are developing a real strike force. It's really great to see that in combination with a very good coach who cares about making the team a strong group. That's part of the reason why Gladbach have done so well," Netzer told Sport Bild.

The former Gladbach star also has praise for Denis Zakaria who has played a key role in the middle of the park under Marco Rose.

"He's enormously valuable, because he plays for the team. Players like him are crucial to success in many teams. They do the dirt work for others," Netzer said.

Gladbach take on Freiburg in the Bundesliga today.
