RB Leipzig boss: Dayot Upamecano is certainly an attractive player for the big clubs

RB Leipzig boss Markus Krösche believes Dayot Upamecano is capable of playing for one of Europe's biggest clubs in the future.
RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche can fully understand why Dayot Upamecano is being linked with some of Europe's biggest clubs.

The 21-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from FC Barcelona as well as a number of big clubs from England, including Arsenal, and that doesn't come as a surprise to Krösche.

"Dayot is currently one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga, so it would surprise me if no clubs came knocking for him. He's certainly an attractive player for the big clubs in Europe. But he can still take a few steps forward and develop further with us," Krösche told Sport Bild.

Upamecano's contract runs until 2021, and the centre-back is stalling on a new deal, according to the report, which claims that he is currently 'considered certain' to leave the club.

The 21-year-old is available for €60 million in the summer thanks to a release clause.
