Kai Havertz voted Bundesliga Player of the Month for May

Kai Havertz has been named Bundesliga Player of the Month for May, seeing off competition from the likes of Achraf Hakimi, Timo Werner and Joshua Kimmich.

Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz has been honored with the Bundesliga's Player of the Month award for May.

Finding the net five times in four games last month, the 21-year-old made a huge impact following the return of the Bundesliga.

Havertz saw off competition from Borussia Dortmund's Achraf Hakimi, Hoffenheim's Christoph Baumgartner, RB Leipzig's Timo Werner as well as Joshua Kimmich and Benjamin Pavard from Bayern München.

It's the first time the German international has won the monthly prize this season.
