Hamann and Matthäus make their picks for Germany's Euro 2021 squad

Former German internationals Dietmar Hamann and Lothar Matthäus have picked the players they would like to see in the squad for Euro 2021.
Sky Germany pundits Dietmar Hamann and Lothar Matthäus have revealed who they would call up for next year's European Championship.

They would both re-call Mats Hummels, who hasn't played for 'Die Mannschaft' since he was excluded from the national team set-up in March last year along with Jerome Boateng and Thomas Müller.

"Mats Hummels is very important in the build-up and is a defensive leader. He makes the others better and is currently the best German centre-back," said Hamann.

Matthäus would bring back Thomas Müller as well.

"He's a good team player, influences the other players and is perfect for high-pressure football," said Germany's record cap-holder.
