Will Lucas Alario keep his starting spot for Leverkusen when Patrik Schick returns?

With Patrik Schick nearing his return from injury, will Lucas Alario keep his starting spot for Leverkusen?
Lucas Alario has grabbed his chance since Patrik Schick suffered a muscle injury in the beginning of October, having found the net seven times in Bayer Leverkusen's last four Bundesliga games.

"Lucas is a machine in front of goal. He's constantly working on himself to score goals like his 1-1 equaliser against Gladbach," Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes told Bild after Alario's brace in Sunday's 4-3 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Schick, who was signed for €26.5 million from AS Roma during the summer transfer window, was the clear first-choice striker prior to his injury.

Now back in full training, the Czech international will be aiming to win back his starting spot, but he might not be able to displace Alario straight away.

With Leverkusen also competing in the Europa League, it's likely that the two strikers will share the playing time.

Asked about Schick's impending return, Rolfes told Bild:

"This means we can rotate between two top strikers, which is ideal for us."
