Dortmund keeping tabs on top Polish Serie A goalkeepers as Burki's successor

With Roman Burki's Dortmund future in doubt due to recent performances, the club is reportedly making an active move on possible replacements.
Borussia Dortmund have been planning to snap up a goalkeeper – with the likes of Ajax’s Andre Onana, RB Leipzig’s Peter Gulacsi and Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos being shortlisted as possible replacement for Roman Burki, who signed a two year contract extension about six months ago.

Now reports have emerged from Italy, via TuttoMercatoWeb, of the Die Schwarzgleben keeping tabs on Juventus No.1 Wojcech Szczesny as a realistic prospect. The Polish goalkeeper has seen himself to the top of the game by performing admirably and sealing his place between the sticks, in place of the legendary Gianluigi Buffon.

The reports adds that this move could help Juventus lure in Gianluigi Donnarumma from Italian rivals AC Milan – a part of the domino effect.

33-year-old Marwin Hitz is BVB’s second choice behind Roman Burki but Burki’s inconsistency of late has got the club searching for another goalkeeper. He has conceded an average of more than one goal per match.

Another Serie A goalkeeper to have been linked with a move to Dortmund is Fiorentina’s Bart Dragowski, this time according to a report from German website, Fussballtransfers.com. The 23-year-old is Polish too and has great ability to develop into a world-class goalie.
