VfB Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat has confirmed that Marc-Oliver Kempf has turned down a contract offer from the club.

"We made him an offer, which is difficult for us to improve. As of now, Kempf and his agency have decided not to accept this offer," Mislintat told Sky.

"They simply said very clearly that it wasn't good enough. And that's fine," added the Stuttgart boss.

Since Kempf's current deal expires in 2022, Stuttgart might want to cash in on him this summer unless he changes his mind.

The centre-back has played 33 games for the Bundesliga outfit this season, chipping in with two goals and an assist.
