Second-tier strikers, as the case of Simon Terodde (and many others) demonstrates, do not necessarily always mean that top tier goals can be assumed. FC Union Berlin appear prepared to take the chance. Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Dursun will receive a high six-figure salary and a contract until 2023. The Köpenick club does not need to pay a transfer fee as the player is available on an expiring contract.
Union will need to replenish its attacking corps ahead of the new season. It has already been confirmed that Taiwo Awoniyi, Petar Musa, and Joel Pohjanpalo (a combined total of 12 league goals this year) are headed back to their parent clubs on expired loan deals.
German footballing magazine Kicker also reports that Union continue their efforts to sign former Hertha winger Genki Haraguchi on another free transfer from Hannover 96.
