Report: Real Sociedad looking to remove Borussia Dortmund’s buyback clause for Alexander Isak

Spanish side Real Sociedad are negotiating with Borussia Dortmund to remove a buyback clause inserted into the contract of Swedish striker Alexander Isak.
The buyback clause in question was part of a deal that saw Isak sold to Real Sociedad, and the fee that was agreed was €30m.

The report comes from Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, who suggests that the Spanish side have been in contact with BVB bosses to remove the clause. Dortmund have not shown any major interest in taking up the option proposed by Real Sociedad but are searching for an agreement.

The report claims that BVB are asking for a €10m fee to remove the clause, but that is more than what the Basque outfit are willing to pay, with the Spanish side suggesting that between €3m and €4m is a more suitable fee.

Isak joined the Spanish side in 2019 after failing to nail a starting spot at Signal Iduna Park. Since making the switch, Isak has been impressive, netting 33 goals in 89 games across all competitions for La Real, compared to the 1 goal in 12 appearances during his time with Dortmund.

Isak still has 3 years left on his current contract with Real Sociedad, but the Spanish side seem keen on keeping him at the Anoeta for longer and would like to remove the clause to obtain 100% rights to the striker.
