VfL Wolfsburg will refuse to sell Maxence Lacroix if their asking price isn't met before a certain time.

The 21-year-old centre-back has been linked with RB Leipzig in particular, but no agreement has been reached yet.

Managing director Jörg Schmadtke has now put pressure on interested parties to get a deal over the line soon if they want to sign Lacroix, emphasizing that Wolfsburg can't wait around forever.

"We're not going to let this drag out for the whole pre-season. We're not sitting around waiting for a decision. After all, we're part of the decision ourselves. At some point, we will say: 'now it's enough'," Schmadtke told Sportbuzzer.

According to reports, RB Leipzig have had two bids turned down by Wolfsburg.

"In our opinion, there has to be an offer that is in line with the market. That hasn't been the case until now," said Schmadtke.

It has also been reported that Lacroix has told the Wolfsburg bosses that he wants to leave.

Schmadtke, however, insists he has not been approached by the 21-year-old, who is still under contract until 2024.
