Stefan Ortega reveals he has turned down a new deal with Arminia Bielefeld.
Stefan Ortega is not planning to extend his contract with Arminia Bielefeld, which expires in the summer of 2022.
"It's out of the question for me right now," the 28-year-old goalkeeper told Kicker and added:
"I don't have to put myself in a situation now that might worsen my position in the market.
"I can understand it from the club's perspective, but you also have to try to see things from the player's side.
"I can well imagine doing something else. I would like to play internationally again."
Ortega has been linked with a move away from Bielefeld after an impressive 2020/21 season, which saw him keep 11 clean sheets in the Bundesliga.
