Bayern Munich are under increasing pressure to sign a new attacking player after missing out on Liverpool-bound Florian Wirtz and with Leroy Sané expected to leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

A number of high-profile names have been linked in recent weeks, including Bradley Barcola (PSG), Rafael Leão (AC Milan), and Nico Williams (Athletic Club).

According to Sport Bild, Williams has now emerged as Bayern’s top target following a weekend meeting between club board member for sport Max Eberl and the Spanish international’s representatives.

However, Bayern view Williams as a costly option, which presents the main challenge in pursuing the deal.

According to the report, his release clause stands at approximately €60 million, with salary discussions ranging from €15 to €20 million annually.

Barcola remains under consideration, as does Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku, while a new name - Ritsu Doan of Freiburg - has also entered the discussion.

Meanwhile, interest in Rafael Leão, Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton), and Cody Gakpo (Liverpool) appears to have cooled.
