FC Augsburg has loaned attacking player Elias Saad to second-division club Hannover 96 until the end of the current season.

Both clubs have agreed to keep further details of the transfer confidential regarding the versatile Tunisian winger.

Saad, whose contract in Augsburg runs until June 2029, moved from FC St. Pauli to the Bavarian club last summer.

This season, the 26-year-old has only managed to feature for a total of 499 minutes in ten Bundesliga matches to date.

He was recently part of the Tunisian national team squad at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he made two appearances.

“Elias didn’t get much playing time with us, and at the same time, he has a clear goal of participating in the World Cup with Tunisia.

"Therefore, a loan until the end of the season is the right step in the current situation.

"We wish him every success at Hannover 96 for the second half of the season,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber.
