As confirmed by both clubs this evening, William Bøving departs on loan from Bundesliga club Mainz 05 to 1.FC Nürnberg.

The 23-year-old came through the youth academy of FC Copenhagen and moved to Sturm Graz in the summer of 2022.

In Austria, the striker continued to impress with 21 goals and 20 assists, resulting in Mainz luring him to the Bundesliga in 2025.

For Mainz, he played 9 games in the German topflight and 8 in the UEFA Conference League last season, scoring a solitary goal.

The Danish marksman also scored the final goal in the 9-0 cup victory against VfB Krieschow in the first round last weekend.

“We are delighted to have added William as an extra option for our attacking play," said sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou.

"He comes to us with experience from international competition and the Bundesliga, but is still young and hungry.

"He is versatile in attack and can play both as a striker and as a number 10.”
