Tobias Strobl has officially moved from third-division side SC Verl to VfL Wolfsburg, the club officially announced this afternoon.

The 38-year-old head coach has signed a contract with the recently relegated Lower Saxony club until 30 June, 2028.

“We held many discussions in a short period of time," said VfL Wolfsburg's sporting director, Dieter Hecking after the announcement.

"As a result, Pirmin Schwegler and I are firmly convinced that we have found the right coach in Tobias Strobl.

“He is a coach with great energy and a clear vision of football, who, despite his young age, already brings a wealth of experience to Wolfsburg.

"He made a name for himself at FC Augsburg with his successful work at the interface between youth and professional football.

“He has impressively demonstrated, not least in Verl, how to build a team and develop players, taking them to a new level,” he added.

With SC Verl, Strobl achieved the club's best-ever third-division finish last season, securing sixth place and also won the Westphalia Cup for the first time in 19 years.
