Official: VfL Wolfsburg capture Hauke Wahl from FC St. Pauli

The 32-year-old centre-half has moved to the Autostadt club ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Hauke Wahl who has joined the 2.Bundesliga side from FC St. Pauli.

Furthermore, the 32-year-old Hamburg native has signed a contract with the Lower Saxony outfit until 30 June, 2029. 

“Hauke fits our profile perfectly,” explained VfL Wolfsburg's very own sporting director Pirmin Schwegler after the deal was done.

"With him, we gain an established defender who has consistently delivered strong performances at a high level in recent years.

"He is someone who exudes tremendous composure with his experience and stands for defensive stability.

“In addition to his footballing skills, he also brings leadership qualities,” Schwegler concluded.

In total, the experienced central defender has has amassed 376 appearances across the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, and 3. Liga.
