VfB Stuttgart will be looking for their first win of the season when they visit 2. Bundesliga side Preussen Münster in the first round of the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday evening.
The Swabians lost to Bayer Leverkusen on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time in the Supercup, before suffering a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Freiburg in their Bundesliga opener.
Having lost a number of key players over the summer, Stuttgart have been hit hard by injuries, particularly at the heart of their defense.
As a result, young defender Anrie Chase is set to make his first start at centre-back.
"He did well in Freiburg and has earned our trust by making a good impression in recent weeks," said Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness at the pre-match press conference.
“He has worked his way up through the ranks here at VfB and has made great strides in his development.”
Deniz Undav, on the other hand, will not start as his workload is being monitored, but he will be in the squad.
Preussen Münster have not made the best start to the season either, taking just one point from their first three second-division games.
Coming off a 0-1 defeat to Kaiserslautern, the second division outfit will need a special performance to go through against Stuttgart.
Injury wise, Preussen Münster will be without Batmaz (knee) and Mrowca (Achilles).
Nartey (knee), Raimund (adductor), Rouault (shoulder), Stergiou (back), Touré (ineligible), Vagnoman (metatarsal) are out for Stuttgart.
